Buying together to strengthen the Welsh economy
People like you, who don’t speak Welsh, are usually left out of efforts to win a future for the Welsh language.
Governments have a nasty habit of telling Welsh-speakers that everyone who doesn’t speak the language wants to see it dead. At the same time, they like telling people who don’t speak Welsh that Welsh-speakers want to ‘force it down their throats‘.
Neither of those is true - but they both make a lot of people worried, and so they succeed in stopping us from working together.

But YOU care about the language every bit as much as anyone who speaks it - or you wouldn’t be reading this.
And now there’s a way you can help build a stronger future for the language without having to go back to school!
One of the biggest problems facing the language is that major companies usually refuse point blank to provide services in Welsh. This makes many people feel that Welsh is somehow a ’second-rate’ language, and it contributes to the deeply sad pattern of parents not passing the language on to their children - maybe that happened at some point in your family?
That was the original idea behind DimeGoch.com (WelshPenny is the English version, which came later!) - build an email list of people willing to switch suppliers in order to put pressure on giant companies to provide services in Welsh.
Just one problem with that - we need to know that a high percentage of the people on the list are serious enough to do what they’ve said, and change suppliers. We need people who ACT, not just people who like to talk about what they’re going to do one day…
And that lead to the second idea for DimeGoch.com - that it should cost £1 a month to be on the email list (although you can give more if you want, of course!).
Every penny will go towards promoting DimeGoch.com and lobbying companies to provide services in Welsh.
